Benjamin Johnson grew up in Indiana where he was first introduced to glass at the Indianapolis Art Center. He currently shares that passion with his community as the IAC glass studio chair. Johnson has an exstensive education in both traditional and contemporary techniques, spanning from such art and crafts schools as Pilchuck in WA, Haystack in ME, Ox-Bow in MI, Penland in NC, and Murano in Italy. He has earned his BFA with a concentration in glass from Kent State University in Ohio, and his MFA from Ball State University in Indiana. His artwork is ever evolving and shown in venues across the United States. He has recieved best in show awards in Indiana, Ohio, Louisiana, Florida, and Arizona. In 2013 he was recognized as a Rising Star in contemporary glass at the Museum of American Glass in Milville, NJ.
